Renaissance Festival and Canada!

I'm a little behind.  I can't believe it has been a month already.  So many fun things have happened!  First Mommy and Daddy took me to visit some friends in Cedar Rapids.  Something really special happened while we were there.  I got my first tooth! It was September 2nd for those of you keeping track of such things.

See!  There it is!
Daddy let me drive... Well, not really...
One Saturday morning Mommy and Daddy got me up super early.  It was still dark out!  We got in the car and picked up Diana and Brandon.  All four of them were dressed a little funny.  We drove up north to Minnesota and went to something called a "Renaissance Festival" and it was fun!  It got really hot out.  Diana made me a pretty bonnet to match my dress so I would have something fancy to wear too.

This guy is sooo big!
Mommy sat with me in his hand.

The next day we all packed into the car again and headed up even farther north.  We stopped at a few special places.  I met this really tall guy named Paul.

Daddy, Mommy and Me with Paul.  Look at his crib!
I got my first pair of moccasins.  Aren't they pretty?
They taste pretty good too!

Another Paul!

This one had a friend.  A big blue ox named Babe.

We drove all the way through Minnesota until we hit the border.  This wasn't just any border.  This was the top of the whole country!  I got another stamp in my passport and then we were in Canada!  We drove up and spent the next couple of days with Great Grandma and Grandpa Bovee at their cabin on the Lake of the Woods.  It was so much fun!

This is the lighthouse that is next door.

My ears glow!

Just like in The Lion King

Eventually we had to go home. We drove through to Itasca State Park to visit the Headwaters of the Mississippi River.  That is where it all starts.

My first cracker!

I got this special shirt up in Canada.

This was a special day.  It was the day I turned 6 Months!

The Iowa State Fair!

Mommy and I drove down to Des Moines for the weekend to go see my Aunt Emma sing at the Iowa State Fair.  She was in the semi-finals for the Bill Riley Talent Contest on Saturday and then made it through to the Finals on Sunday.  She didn't win, but she was soooo good!  I got to hang out with a bunch of people and see a lot of new things.  The State Fair was so much fun!  Lots to see and do!

That's cool, Sophie.  You go play with the baby animals.
I'll just sit here and chew on my toes.
