Fiona Avalon, World Traveler!

I knew something had to be going on.  Mommy and Daddy were up late packing giant suitcases and putting things in the car.  When we woke up they buckled me in and we were off!  Down to Des Moines for an adventure!  They took me to Great Grandma Karen and Great Grandpa Bobby's house for a quick stop and then we all went to this strange building called an airport.  Mommy took me out of my carseat (yay!) and put me into my carrier and then they took our suitcases inside and gave them to a strange lady.  I wasn't sure Mommy and Daddy knew what they were doing, but I decided not to say anything about it.  Then we stood in a line and showed this other lady our little books with our pictures in them.  I had my own special one.  Mommy called it a passport.  Apparently we needed them to get where we were going.  Then Daddy when through a big machine that took his picture and Mommy and I went through a different one.   There were so many strange things in this building!  When we got through the machines we  went through a long hallway and through a very small door.  Then we were in something even more strange!  It looked like another long hall, but this one had chairs on the side.  Daddy told me it was an airplane.  We got into some seats and then the airplane started to fly!  It flew all the way to Chicago.

When we got to Chicago we got on another airplane.  This one was much bigger.  And we were on it for MUCH longer!  I slept most of the way and Mommy was very happy that I was such a good girl.  The place that we landed was called London.  We left their airport and got on a train.  We settled in at the place that we were going to spend the night and then went out.  We did lots of things even though Mommy and Daddy were really tired.

Our first stop was the British Museum

We got to ride in that giant wheel!

On our second day we went on a Double Decker Bus Tour.  We got to see a lot of London this way.  We stopped at places like Westminster Abbey, Saint Paul's Cathedral, and Hyde Park.

If you look closely you can see the Queen.  (Mommy didn't let Daddy take pictures after this...)
Lots of funny things in London

Then I finally got to meet my Auntie JoJo!  We went down to Colchester to spend the night and meet Uncle Mike and his parents.  We had a good time there.

I hear that Uncle Mike is always eating...

The next day we went somewhere very special.  The Harry Potter Studio Tour!  It was very cool.  I got to see all of the different sets from the Harry Potter movies.  Mommy also discovered that the Harry Potter theme song soothes me when I cry.

The next stop on our journey was up north to Yorkshire.  We got to see Aunt Jo and Uncle Mike's new house and meet Aunt Jo's family.  We went to an old monastery and to York where we met up with some surprise visitors.

There was a very special reason that we went on this wonderful trip to England.  My Auntie JoJo and Uncle Mike were getting married!

After the wedding I got to meet my other English aunt- Auntie Lumps!  We went on a safari in Birmingham, dinner at The Royal Horseshoes for Pie Night (although I didn't really get to enjoy that...), then Auntie JoJo and Uncle Mike came down and played around Nottingham with us.

A man and a woman had a little baby, there were three in the family. That's a magic number!

The Day I Said Hello To The World

Very early in the morning, around 1:00 am, Mommy started feeling something.  She wasn't sure exactly what it meant, but it didn't go away.  At 2:00 am she woke up Daddy and told him that she thought that maybe they should go to the hospital.  He called Grandpa Kal to get out the tractor to shovel the way because it had been snowing since the day before.  Daddy called the hospital to tell them that they were on their way.  Grandpa Kal had gotten our road cleared and started down the highway.  At the bottom of a big curvy hill Grandpa got stuck and couldn't move.  He told Daddy that he should call 911 to bring out some plows.  Daddy did and a sherrif car came and got stuck.  Right behind him was the plow and he got stuck too!  All the time Mommy was feeling pretty bad.  She was not having fun!  Another plow came and he started to get stuck, but stopped before he would.  Grandpa Kal got free and went back home to get a bigger tractor with the huge snowblower on it to try to get everyone free.  Everyone was able to get unstuck and Grandpa Kal finally got the road cleared.  He was the hero!  Mommy and Daddy were able to drive the rest of the way to the hospital.  Instead of 30 minutes their trip took 3 hours!

They got to the hospital at 6:30 am.  Mommy got all settled in and the doctor came to see her and told her that I was going to be born today!  Things happened fast for a little bit.  She got an epidural so it would stop hurting.  She liked that a lot.  Daddy says she was a lot happier after that.  Then the doctor came back and broke her water.  He said everything looked good.  After that not much happened for awhile.  Mommy had to have oxygen put on her a couple of times because I was being a little difficult, but things got better quickly.  It wasn't ever anything too bad.  The nurse stayed in there after that though just to make sure.  Mommy and Daddy were tired, so they napped a little.  At 1:00 pm the doctor came back and checked on Mommy.  He said that she was ready to start pushing if she wanted to.  It had been a long morning and Daddy was hungry, so she was super nice and told him and the nurse to go eat lunch and then they would try.  They got back around 1:30 pm and started to push.  The nurse said that sometimes it takes a long time to be all ready for the doctor, so they would do as much as they could first.  It didn't take long at all!  Mommy had to stop to wait for the doctor and after one more big push I was born!

Princess Fiona Avalon Bovee was born at 2:09 pm on March 11, 3013

At first I just cuddled with Mommy.

Then the nurses took me to get weighed and measured and cleaned off.
I was 7 lbs, 1 oz and 19 inches long!

Welcome Home!
I made it home in time to be blessed by the new Pope!

Gramma Lisa and Grandy came to visit next

We had to go shopping because my clothes were too big!  Even some of the Newborn size clothes didn't fit me yet!

This is when Mommy and Daddy gave me my first bath at home.  The water was too cold!  They have gotten pretty good at making sure the water is warm enough for me.  I like baths much better now.

Lots of new people came to visit me my first few weeks.

When I turned one month old Mommy made me a pretty orange sparkly tutu and started taking my picture again.  She told me that we will be doing this EVERY month until I turn one year old!

I had a good time hanging out my first couple of months.  Mommy and I had some good cuddle time.  She made me do something called "Tummy TIme" that I wasn't too sure about.  I've gotten much better at it.  These are some of Mommy's favorite pictures.

On May 12th I was Baptized.  My Godparents are Loral Rainey and Matthew Rainey.  They are Mommy's cousins.  Lots of people came up to celebrate with us.  It was also a very special day because it was Mommy's first Mother's Day!

This is the very special gown that I wore.  It has been in Mommy's family for several generations.

Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!

On May 15th Mommy took me to the doctor.  I weighed 10 lbs, 9 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long!  Then something horrible happened.  I was snoozing along, nice and warm in Mommy's arms when BAM!  I had this really bad thing jabbed into my legs.  THREE TIMES!!!  I hope that never happens again...
